Perfume Is Out Now
Perfume is here. My new single is out now on every platform, and the official music video is live on YouTube.
This one means a lot to me. Perfume is the first release from a batch of songs I wrote earlier this year with Damon Sharpe, Bonnie McKee, and JHart, and it’s the most confident, playful sound I’ve put out yet.
What Perfume is about
Perfume is about the mark you leave behind. The idea started with something simple: a scent lingers in a room long after a person walks out. That invisible signature, the energy and presence that make someone unforgettable, that’s the whole song.
It’s a celebration of feminine confidence and self-expression. At a time when the world can feel divided, I wanted to make something joyful. Something that feels like putting on your favorite fragrance and walking out the door ready for anything.
And yes, the hook is exactly as bold as it sounds. “Shining like a new Ferrari.” I meant every word.
The sound: Persian roots meet modern pop
Perfume blends shimmering dance-pop with subtle Persian textures. It opens with an Eastern-inspired string melody that weaves through the whole track, and that’s on purpose. I’m Persian and American, and this song lives in both worlds at once.
Persian culture is full of beauty, warmth, and celebration. Bringing even a small piece of that into a modern pop record is one of my favorite things to do as an artist. The Middle Eastern flourishes aren’t decoration. They’re my signature.
Who I made it with
I wrote Perfume with three people I trust completely: Grammy-winning producer Damon Sharpe, who I’ve worked with for years, songwriter Bonnie McKee, and hitmaker JHart. We wrote it during a run of sessions earlier this year, and Perfume was the first song that came out of them. It won’t be the last this summer.
The music video expands the whole world of the song: bold color, high-fashion styling, choreography, and a lot of joy.
Where Perfume fits in the story
Perfume continues a run I’m proud of. My last single, “It’s On You” with Preston Harris, became my third straight U.S. Top 40 appearance in eight months, after “Lipstick” and “Skin & Bones.” It all builds on my double album One Suitcase, which is still the heart of everything I’m making right now.
If you’re new here, One Suitcase is where my story lives: leaving Iran with a single suitcase, rebuilding a life in a new language, and turning all of it into music. Perfume is the same person a few chapters later. Still Persian, still American, still shining.
